Recordex has had its roots in Georgia since 1969. We were founded in Atlanta and
operated from there for about 18 years before relocating to Swainsboro, Georgia.
As Atlanta grew we felt the country side might be a little more our style. We found
a nice little town a few hours south of Atlanta to call home and we’ve been there
ever since.
We started out building commercial grade audio tape (reel to reel!) recorders, and
duplicators and then quickly developed the first mass produced high-speed cassette
duplicator. We became a leader in providing tape duplicators to institutions, schools
and especially court reporters. As the years went by we pioneered many innovations
in tape duplication including expandable duplicators, portable duplicators, and affordable
stereo duplication. We’ve sold many thousands of our tape duplicators around the
world.
Today we are full-board into the optical duplication market. We launched the first
line of 20x DVD duplicators available in the US, and we recently launched a revolutionary
on-disc printer that is setting a new standard for short-run on-disc printing. The
print quality of our entry level printer, the StudioJet 50™, has been compared with
other printers that sell for 4x as much!
In a market that is increasingly being taken over by short-term players we are proud
of our history and look forward to pioneering duplication solutions for many years
to come.
